Hello Everyone:
It has been a very busy year and we continue to work on enhancing elections in SC.
Our lawsuit for the Cast Vote Records has been a long and arduous journey. What should have been over in a few months with minimal funds has turned into a long drawn-out expensive battle. When one of our team members spoke to their millennial kid about this he exclaimed, “It makes you wonder what they are trying to hide.”
Indeed. Why would our government want to keep us from obtaining records that help us better understand how our vote is being counted? Why are they fighting so hard and trying to discredit regular citizens in a FOIA case? Why aren’t the governor and Attorney General standing with the people for election transparency? This has been a case study in lawfare. But facts matter.
They claim that there is Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on CVRs as well as ways to tie a voter to a ballot but these arguments don’t hold water:
1. There is NO PII on the ballots
2. If there are locations where only 10 or fewer people comprise a ballot style we can have these filtered out.
3. If they are concerned a write in could identify someone, you can redact those in the report customization.
All of the above issues are minor and can be addressed easily as they are in other states.
Our experts have tried to determine how a specific person can be tied to a ballot and still haven’t been able to determine how that could possibly happen.
To date we have spent over $50K on this suit and anticipate that it will continue for a few more months. At this time, we believe that the trial will be held in August.
More than ever, we ask for your prayers. We also need help with funding. Here is the link to our give send go account:
In addition to the CVR lawsuit we continue to analyze election and voter roll data and are evaluating paper hand counted ballot voting systems.
Here is a great website that documents a transparent, simple, and inexpensive way for hand counted ballots at the local level.

The best way for SC citizens to truly trust their election systems is to have full transparency without involving machines or any electronic devices which can be hacked or compromised.
Let’s bring the vote count back to the local level. And let’s redesign a process that is simple, transparent, accurate, accountable and trustworthy.
Blessings and love,
The SCSE team
THANK YOU!!
